Legal Question in Elder Law in California

As defined by California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 15610-15610.65, Sarah, my mother in law, is an elder who has isolated herself causing imminent danger by her own actions and causing my mental suffering. I feel myself and my family is threatened by her actions and wishes her to be removed from our home. Her other children and her siblings refuse to take her in. Her social worker has offered her places to go which she has refused. She screamed at us that she wants to leave and cannot wait to leave and never have contact with us again, yet as I stated, she has refused her social workers options. How can I legally have her removed from our home, without repercussions on us?

"Without repercussions"?? Yeah, nice try. You could try to get a restraining order that would force her out, and then she would have to find somewhere to live, including the social worker options. Suggest you get an attorney to do this, as you only get one shot at it.

You want to throw out your elderly disabled mother in law? It is Christmas for God's sake. What's your husband saying about this? Is he okay with it?

Sorry for not providing a legal advice here, but I am shocked at cold heartedness of people like you. Obviously she is old, frail, ill and scared. Give her the peace she needs in the winter of her life. I am sure you would never want to find yourself in her shoes. Remember what goes around comes around.
