Legal Question in Elder Law in California

Private Investagator

I recently hired a PI to help getting informatio which could help my mother, who is 90 years young, regain property that she had been convinced to sign a quitclaim on. I paid him $2500.00 and he has done nothing to help regain the property. He has told me it was nothing to get it transfered back to my mother, yet we are no closer to an end than the day I gave him the money. How can I find out if he is ligit and what can I do to either get the case finished or get my money returned? What are my options?

Re: Private Investagator

Unless a PI is able to persuade a bad guy to sign over the title, or unless he is also an attorney, there is nothing he can do to 'help' you other than locate the bad guy if he is hiding or moved. A claim of fraudulent transfer or undue influence, etc., would have to be made by filing suit against the person getting the title improperly. Your mother needs an attorney, not a PI. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
