Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have 50/50 custody of my son. I have a vacation from work coming up and I am going back east to visit family. My son is still in school and cant go so I was going to have my parents watch him and take him to school. My ex is saying that if I cant watch him for the week that she is the only one who can watch him. What do I do? There is nothing in our court order that states this.

Since your court orders do not specify what happens if you cannot have the child for this period, you find yourself in a grey area. I urge you to return to court to address this issue and modify your court order to allow your parents to have the CHIKD for this time you are away.
