Legal Question in Family Law in California

My ex and I have 50/50 custody of our 12 year old twins. We do not pay each other child support because when we initially divorced in 2004 we were making about the same financially. My ex is a pastor and he seems to be doing very well financially now so much so that he is moving to a bigger church, bigger home and according to our girls spends a lot of money on clothes, vacations etc. I am a single mother and living on a tight budget. Should I file for child support now or is the possible conflict it may cause with my ex even worth it?

Your question is not a legal one. All the law can tell you is that if there has been a meaningful change in financial circumstances you have a right to have support evaluated and if the Dissomaster says he owes you support under current incomes, you are legally entitled to receive it.

You should request information from your ex to determine his current income. With that information, you can assess whether or not it's worth returning to court.
