Legal Question in Family Law in California

My boyfriend and I are not married and he wants to take our 20 month old daughter out of state and I am opposed to it since we are always fighting and he threatens to take her away all the time. Do I have to let her go and what happens if he takes her without my knowledge? We have a mediation agreement that was never signed by a judge.

You need court orders to clearly specify your custody and visitation with a provision preventing the child from being removed from California without court permission.
