Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am in California. I was "given Stock Options" when I was single. I cashed in on and sold them when married. Now getting a divorce- does he by law have rights to 1/2 the proceeds of those, even though they were given before married.

Property before marriage is separate not community. Property character does not change unless you commingle or change them in some manner.
