Legal Question in Family Law in California
Ex wants to take child away from me.
As it stands now, I have temporary custody and my soon to be ex has visitation with our daughter (14 months old) over the weekend. We have a custody confernce coming up on the 30th of November and I'm extremely nervous beings that he has a lawyer and that I'm representing myself. I really feel the need to hire some representation, although I only work on the weekends making $9 an hour. I am a massage therapist and finding work in San Francisco is extremely difficult. My goal is to be able to move to L.A before the end of next summer, but with the court order in place, I'm not allowed to leave S.F. for longer than 24 hours without notifying ''the ex''. I believe that stipulation was put there to have some control over me. I'm not looking for a handout and at the same time my parents aren't very wealthy. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Without any help, I won't be able to get ahead. But if i sit back and do nothing, He'll move back to his home town in Cincinnati, Ohio with my daughter to live with his parents. We are both fighting to have full legal and full physical custody of our daughter.

Re: Ex wants to take child away from me.
You need to get a conference with an attorney to discuss this matter. If your ex has significantly hirer income than you do you can request that the court order him to pay your attorney fees. The court should have a family court law clinic. The clinic should be able to get some help there.
