custody of grandchildren

My sister is unfit and my parents want custody of her kids. She has 3 one of them is with my parents already but they don't have custody yet. The other tow are with the paternal grandparents, but they are mistreated. what can they do?

The best answer is to file for a guardianship of either the one or all three, if you feel that the paternal grandparent is unable to properly take care of them. I would highly suggest that you obtain legal counsel competent in guardianship law. Good luck!

These types of situations are complicated and this really requires an attorney. I would suggest at least talking to family law attorneys. Most attorneys offer consultations at reduced rates or do not charge for an initial consultation.

I agree that a guardianship may be the way to proceed but I would want to obtain more information regarding the mother's fitness or not being fit as a mother.

You could also talk to the family law facilitator's office in the courthouse where you case is being heard. They are paraglegals that can lead you in the right direction.
