Legal Question in Family Law in California

custody

I have a 2 month old and c.p.s. removed him from my home. when i go to court can i retain myself a lawyer or do i have to use their court appointed attorneys

You can and probably should retain a private attorney to represent you in this matter. Although the appointed attorneys have a lot of experience in juvenile court, they have a heavy case load and only limited time for each case.
