Legal Question in Family Law in California
My daughter's step-father, who was married to the mother of the child at the time of birth, put his name on her birth certificate, even though he knew he was not the father. I have had visitation with my daughter, who is now 3. Step-father is interfering now and won't let me see her. Paternity action is pending. How do I join him in the case?

To join as a party in a case, you would need to file what is called a Joinder motion so that you can ask the court to be joined as a third party to the case. If you are able to show good cause for why you should be joined, the court will grant your motion.
