Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce before Child Support is finalized

I am receiving government assistance. My case involves domestic violence. Child Support Services has not been finalized (court dates keep getting continued)but they are using the same divorce case number. Divorce court says I need dissomaster or judgement number from CSSD before I can finish the divorce. Is this true? I need this divorce and cannot wait for CSSD to finally complete their end. Is there a way around it and do I need a lawyer?
