divorce and minimum retire age

I am a pharmacist and plan to retire 55, so i work so hard betweein 55 to 66 hrs per week, now me and my wife on mediation divorce, my mediator told me i can not retire or reduce hrs, i have to work full time. two question for you

1 after consulting attorney, she told me i have to work 40 hrs, do i have to still work overtime as usual.

seocond, what is the earlier time in california I can retire since we already have enough money to retire, just because we are divoring, and i am loosing all the early retire plan, so at least i would like to know when can i retire by california law

There is no simple answer to your question. As a general rule the court cannot force you to continue to work more than 40 hours per week. In regard to early retirement that would depend upon a number of factors. Such as how much of the retirement and other assets accumulated are community property, show would receive 1/2 of all community property. What is her employment history and what does she earn or what is her ability to earn. If you have accumulated enough assets to retire at 55 you should retain an attorney to guide you through this process. Only general rule information can be provided over the internet. You need advice base on your particular circumstances.
