Home owned before marriage

I purched a home in 97, I got married in 2003. I want to divorce my husband and he keeps saying he wants his equity out of my home. How is he entitled to equity? He says he spoke to an attorney. If he is entitled how is the amount he would get decides?

That is a complex formula. You will need to talk to a family law attorney to get more information. If the house was never transferred into joint names he won't have much interest. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
