Legal Question in Family Law in California

I got married on April 10th of this year, and I am in the process of leaving my husband. I need to know if we qualify for an annulment in the state of California. He was released from prison on April 7th, 2009 and we were married on April 10th, 2009. The reason for the quick marriage was so that we could get his parole transferred to a different county. We met while he was incarcerated, and only lived together from mid may (when they finally transferred parole) until July 21st, when he got incarcerated again. I want to get everything done before he gets out in Feb. But I need to know how. Can we get an annulment? How much will it cost? Do I have to go through a lawyer? Or can I go through the courts myself? Do I have to do it in the same county we were married?

Look on form FL-100 which can be found on www.courtinfo.ca.gov under the forms tab. This form lists the grounds for an annulment. If you are having problems filling out the forms, your local court may have a self help center or you can hire an attorney. Otherwise, just go directly through the courts yourself. To file in California, you must have resided here for the past 6 mths and you file in the County you've resided in for the past 3 mths.
