Both child support and spousal support (the correct term for what is often called alimony) are primarily accounting exercises that are totally dependent on the facts, circumstances and finances of the family, and in the case of child support the amount of time the child will spend with each parent. So there is no way an attorney can give you even a guess at numbers without all the relevant information and a determination on custodial time percentages. The only other thing we can tell you is that for a marriage of that length, there is a presumption that at least some spousal support will be paid, and the standard time is half the length of the marriage, but those are just the starting points. All the facts and finances will have to be evaluated.
