Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am in the middle of my divorce, the cell phone is in my husband's name. I have not attempted to change our plans or do anything with the account. My BlackBerry took a swim (insured) and I took the phone in to Sprint store because the phone wasnt recognizing my email which I need for business. I was unable to anything because he had changed the password on the account and wouldnt give it to me. Can he do that? Isnt he restrained from making any changes until after we have final orders?

He is not specifically restrained from changing passwords on cell phone accounts, but you could very easily get a court order forcing him to disclose the new password. Given that it is a business need, you probably could also get it as an emergency ex parte order, and monetary sanctions and attorneys fees as well. The courts do not have time for those kinds of games and will be happy to slap someone who plays them.
