Legal Question in Family Law in California

i missed a court case relating to the custody of my child. i missed my court date due to fact that i was incarcerated. Custody has now been handed over to my ex. what are my legal options to change who has custody?

You should file a motion to modify the custody order due to the fact that you were incarcerated. However the reality of the situation is that you may not be able to have custody since you are in jail, and the other parent may have to have temporary custody of the child.
