Legal Question in Family Law in California

Pregnant with Medical Bills

I am 4 months pregnant by my ex-boyfriends child. He is married and has recently decided that he would like to work things out with his wife. I had been going to the doctor for about 4 months now, but found out that I did not have medical insurance, so the bills that have accumulated thus far need to be paid out of pocket because my new insurance does not cover past doctors visit. My ex and I agreed to split the bills in half, but he is not paying his half, and all the medical bills are in my name. Legally what can I do to insure he pays his half?

Re: Pregnant with Medical Bills

You can file a petition to determine paternity and request that he pay the medical bill associated with the pregnancy and child birth.
