Legal Question in Family Law in California

No QDRO done, what are my obligations?

My ex-husband and I divorced over 3 years ago. We handled the divorce through a paralegal. The settlement states he is entitled to a specific dollar amount of my retirement accounts. The document mentions a QDRO, but fails to state who must prepare it and it was never done. At my request, my financial planner called my ex to ask him where he wanted the funds dispersed and what would be required. Three years later, my ex has taken no further action. What are my obligations here? Must I continue to remind him about it? Is there any point at which this money is considered abandoned?

I am not aware of any time after which the property would be considered under these circumstances. You have two choices pay for the preparation of the QDRO or take your chances and wait for him to do something.
