Legal Question in Family Law in California
Although I haven't received divorce papers, I think my husband will file for a no-fault divorce so I would be forced to divorce him. I'm wondering if there is some other way that I could contest it because I was deserted three days after I had an abortion. He refuses to make any contact whatsoever. I had the abortion because I wanted to save our marriage. I know I can't force him to communicate with me so I'm more than happy to give him space if he needs it. I just know I can't end our marriage. We don't have a lot to divide between us. It's not about the money.
Also, my immigration papers haven't been fixed yet so I'm still out of status. Will that affect my standing?

Unfortunately, you cannot stop your husband from divorcing you in California. The California laws controlling divorce actions allow a spouse to proceed with the divorce without the need for consent from the other spouse to end the marriage.
