I need to serve papers to my ex wife's attorney...can I do that myself?

No. Papers must be served by someone over the age of 18, who is not a party to the action.

Mr. Roach is correct, and that is true whether service is by personal delivery, mail, or overnight courier (for overnight courier and mail the proof states that it was deposited in the mail or with the carrier by the person signing the proof of service).
