Legal Question in Family Law in California

My wife recently filed for divorce (no fault divorce) is there a way to stop this?Or prolong it? I love my wife & kids. How can I buy time to get them back? She made the choice of separating because we had a serious argument that led to us not speaking to eachother for 40 days.

If you have been served with the legal paperwork, then you have 30 days to file a response. If you do not she will get default against you. Read the summons.

After the service of documents on you, there is a minimum of 6 month cooling off period before final divorce decree can be issued. You can utlitize this time to seek counselling or in any other productive way to make the marriage work. You have plenty of time. 40 days of not speaking to each other sounds like serious problem to me.
