Legal Question in Family Law in California
Why Do Women Ususally Get Custody Of Children?
Why do women usually get custody? Is there any way I can try to get custody of my two children if I file for divorce? It seems unfair that custody always goes to the mother. I would like to file but I am so afraid of my wife getting custody I haven't. I don't agree with her parenting at all. So, I pretty much feel that if I file I will lose custody. I would like to have the kids live with me and 50% custody with the mother but I want them to live with me not her. Is there anything I can do?

Pursuant to the law, men and women have an equal chance of getting custody. There are too many facts to discuss here. If you want to try to go for custody you may contact me at my family law website at www.divorce-legal.net or you may call me at 818.739.4544 ext. 15

Mothers are generally the primary care provider. There is also a bias in favor of mothers that is held by judges. You should contact a local family law attorney and discuss the facts of your case and the possibility of the court ordering that you have full custody. This will also provide information regarding what you need to do to improve your chances. The alternative is to do nothing until she takes the first step and gets further ahead of you.
