Legal Question in Medical Leave in California

Family Medical Leave Act

My has strict attendance requirements and much of my life is taken up by it. I am placed in stressful situations for inadequate pay. I have PKU which is a genetic disoreder where my liver is not able to metabolize protein. I have to be on a special diet. I have to be especially strict about 6 months before and during any preganacy I may have for the baby's health. My husband and I would like to have a baby, but because of the strict requirements of my job, I can't get adequate time off to visit my doctor and prepare properly so that we can do this. I was wondering if this would apply to the Family Medical Leave Act or if their is any other way I could be helped.

Thank you.
