Legal Question in Medical Leave in California

fmla

I have intermittent fmla, I also do alot of dog rescue on the weekends. One day while i happen to be off to go to the doctors, the rescue group ask me if i could to go free a dog from the public shelter. so i did. my company found out and now they are saying i'm using the fmla to save dogs, which is insane. can they terminate for this.?

Yes. Applying for FMLA certifies you are too sick or too 'something' tp be able to work, so working/volunteering at another job outside the home while on FMLA would be reasonably viewed by your employer as fraud. And, since you admit you were 'saving a dog', how is it "insane" for them to say you were 'saving a dog'?
