Legal Question in Medical Leave in California

I was told by my employer that my paid time off was applied to my FMLA. Is this correct? There is no policy in our staff handbook regarding this matter.

Yes, vacation and other leaves can be used up and applied towards the total 12 week unpaid FMLA leave. If you have 12 weeks accrued paid leaves, the the FMLA would be a 'paid' leave, but you'd have no accrued leave time left.
