Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
My boyfriend's ex wife (whom I have never met or spoken to) seems to have taken up a new hobby. Her new hobby is bashing me to their chilldren by saying that I am a skank, that she hates me, and trying to influence her kids into hating me as well. We have no mutual friends, so it would be impossible for her to find out anything about me and the names she is calling me such as a skank and a whore couldn't be further from the truth. Is this considered slander even if she is only slandering me to my boyfriend and the kids. I also have a child and their kids are starting to repeat the things that she says to them about me not only to myself, but my child. I do not want my child thinking mommy is a whore! Do I have ANY recourse at all?! To this point I have just sat back and ignored it but it's getting old. I know this sounds very childish, but I need to find a solution to this problem. Talking to her is not an option. She won't even get on the phone so we can talk like adults.

Your boyfriend needs to go into court and either enforce an existing non-disparagement order (most standard custody agreements and orders have one) or ask the court for one. Then if she keeps it up haul her into court for contempt of court orders.
