Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

California Subpoena

I have custodian of records in Glendora, California that will not accept a subpoena issued on a Texas Civil case. They have informed us they will need a California subpoena to release the records we need. The Los Angeles County Court has informed me that I would have to contact an attorney to find out how to get the Texas Subpeona issued in California so this custodian of records will accept it and provide the records. So what I need to know is how to get a Texas Subpoena issued through the California court so that the custodian will accept it and will release records

Re: California Subpoena

I just noticed your unanswered question. You will need to have an attorney file an application to enter a judgment based upon another state's judgment. After you obtain a CA judgment, then you can issue a subpeona on the CA judgment that the custodian will have to recognize by sending the material to the CA attorney. The process is similar to filing a motion. If interested in getting it done contact me to discuss costs, etc.
