Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

cheer shoes abandoned?

My daughters youth cheer team needed a space to store some spare cheer shoes (500 pairs) and I volunteered 3 years ago. I emailed the director last month and asked that they find a new place as I will no longer be active on their cheer board. She responded that she would try to find a place for them. What is my next step? Do I send them a certified letter giving them an exact date that they need to remove the shoe boxes/cases? At what point can I call the local shelter and donate them without fear of litagation? I would like to redo the carpet in that room and have been holding off for two years because of the shoes.

thanks

Re: cheer shoes abandoned?

I wouldn't donate the shoes at all. If the director does not respond, send an email to the Cheer Board and ask them who will come get them and when they will come get them. You could send a letter and give them a reasonable time, but how will the other parents/kids react to you and, more importantly, your daughter?
