Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

City has approved neighbors to build a 5 car garage that takes up 50% of back yard, the garage is bigger than the house. No one lives in the house. There have been many problems with the owners son and friends as they like to work all hours on cars the city even put a no work after 10 pm on the plans indicating the city knows this is a shop. This is a residential area, and when questioned the cities answer was that many people have business in their garages do we have any action to stop this?

If it has already received final approval from the city, your recourse now is to file suit against the neighbor and city, seeking to void the permit on the basis of violation of building code, zoning rules, or possibly violation of public notice and review rules. If this is in SoCal, and if you are willing to invest the substantial attorney fees and costs it will take to pursue this, feel free to contact me to discuss.
