Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
Civil Lititgation
I was the sole proprioter of a
business, and I am being sued as well
as the business and someone who
worked for me who is not a full time
employee. Can that person be sued
too?

Re: Civil Lititgation
Anyone can be sued, the question is whether there is any merit to the suit.
There is not enough information here. Why is the person suing you and your employee? If it is for some wrong that the employee did while working for you, both you and the employee are potentially liable.
If it is just something like you did not pay a bill to a vendor, then most likely there is no basis to sue the employee.

Apparently they have been. The legal implications of that are too numerous to go into, and it may harm your legal interests to go into them in this forum, but you may contact me for a consultation.

Re: Civil Lititgation
Anybody can sue anybody for anything. Winning is a different question. You should consult with, and hire, a local attorney to determine whether there are defenses to the case, and whether any named defendants can get out of the case. You must defend it to avoid a default judgment against you. If this is in SoCal courts, and if you're serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
