There are lots of landlords who won't run your credit. Bring a roll of $100 bills to your meeting with the landlord and pay the first month's rent and security deposit in cash (get a receipt).

If you had an eviction, it is on your 'permanent' record. That can not be changed, and any intelligent landlord will run your credit and deny you rental. Some aren't so bright, or may be willing to rent to you with a bigger deposit than normal. If you didn't have an eviction, and this is somehow mistaken ID, you can hire an attorney to help you demand the credit reporting agencies correct their records.
