Being fired while on disability

I was but on disability by my doctor for a month. As the month was ending he continured it for a year. I was told by the h/r department that i was terminated because of my medical leave. Is this leagal?

Re: Being fired while on disability

If you are on leave beyond an approved company medical and/or personal leave, or beyond the weeks that FMLA allows, you can be terminated.
