I want to hire someone to come clean my house 2 per month. What should I do to safeguard myself should anything happen.

Go thru a legitimate agency to avoid legal problems and need for WCAB and I9 proof.

Your homeowners' insurance policy covers household employees for workers compensation (on-the-job injuries). If you don't have homeowners' insurance and someone gets hurt, you could be liable for lots of money! You might also want to hire through a reputable firm that checks references, provides bonded employees -- and pays their withholding taxes and does the tax paperwork.

You can use a bonded company also.
