What happens if an attorney knowingly lies and misleads the court in an civil unlimited case?

Nothing, unless someone brings the matter to the court's attention in some way, and proves their allegations. There is a difference between 'lying' to the court, and disagreeing with your version of events. If you have actual 'proof' of an attorney lying, you could contact the court clerk's office and the California State Bar to report it. Do not do so without real proof.
