Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Mail order rip-off

Greetings. Last yr, my wife, who is permanently disabled w C.P., bought a course on how to make money dealing in the cash flow business by buying & selling R.E. notes. The company coaxed her into spending over $4k for ''mentoring'', even after she told them she was disabled & could ill afford it. They sent her leads that were no good. They tried to get more $$ out of her for ''better'' leads. She finally gave up even trying to deal w them.

Is there some way for her to get her $$ back? She tried asking them for it, but no luck.

I've read of other people who have been ripped off by these folks. Maybe a class action lawsuit? Would a lawyer out there be willing to sue them for dis-ability discrimination, or at least write a demand letter for the return of her money? They deliberately mis-led & took advantage of a vulnerable woman.

Thank you

Re: Mail order rip-off

She was scammed, and you understand that. You don't really think you'll ever get money back from such scam artist, do you? Anything you spent in fees and costs would be a waste, in my humble opinion. And, no, I doubt any attorney would do this for free or pro bono, because you are not dealing with a legitimate company that such action would 'educate' and improve. They know they're scam artists, do you think they care what you or some attorney does? Plus, this has absolutely nothing to do with disability discrimination, it has to do with fraud against your wife and anyone else they can 'rook'.

I think the money is well spent. You've learned that get-rich-quick schemes have never worked and never will.

Neither will a lawsuit on these facts.
