Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Notification of lien with sales contract

I have a dispute with a boat dealer who did service work on my boat. The disputed amount is $7,600. They put a lien against my boat for this amount, but didn't tell me, which is OK under admiralty law. However, 2 months later I signed a sales contract with the same dealer to sell my boat. They still didn't tell me about the lien they had against the same boat. If they enter into an agreement to sell my boat, do they have to atell me at that point that they did something that would prevent me from selling it? (Putting a lien on it?) Isn't that not acting in good faith?

Re: Notification of lien with sales contract

Their lien is good and you do know about it. They will take their money from the sale. If you dispute the lien, then you should fight it right now.
