Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
For the past 2 years I have been harassed, threatened, humiliated and lied about on Facebook by a woman and 4 of her friends that I have never even met. This woman is my daughters, boyfriends aunt. They have attacked my family & friends as well, calling me horrible and very nasty names, saying that I am an abusive mom, crazy and even a prostitute. I blocked all of these people but they just find another way to post their threats & their lies on my family & friends FB The things that they have posted are out right lies & disgusting even her dog made a nasty comment. I recently found out that her 4 friends are not real & that she uses these profiles to harass people. She is using pictures of other people without their permission & giving them fake names, I looked up the pictures & 1 of the fake profiles pictures is the lead singer of a christian rock band who this woman is saying that she is a lesbian among other things, I was wondering is there anything that I can do to stop her? How do I contact the lead singer of the christian rockband to let her know that her image is being trashed?

Welcome to the world of foolish and dangerous social media, and naive use. Facebook pages are an open invitation to mean, evil and malevolent abuse by anyone with access to a computer. You could spend thousands of dollars on attorney fees and costs trying to locate, sue and serve individuals, with virtual no likelihood of 'successful outcome' as you would like. I wouldn't take your money to do so, as you would not be happy with the failure to 'do anything' about the problem.
I agree that the legal system is not well equipped to handle this type of behavior.
It may be that a letter from a lawyer might have an impact on this woman. A lawsuit, however, would be extremely expensive, and there is no guarantee you would recover any money from it.
