Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Power of Attorney for IEP

My son, who attends a special school, will turn 18 in Nov. I plan to ask him to give me a power of attorney for signing his IEPs. Is it possible to write a document in which he surrenders his authority over the IEP and invalidates his own signature for IEP purposes? I ask this because the school doesn't agree with me and him on certain points, but the school has been able to provide a Coca Cola to him to get him to change his mind, although he regretted it later. I'm afraid they can get a signature out of him with the same method.

Thank you for your help.

Re: Power of Attorney for IEP

Power of attorney can be revoked any time. You need a conservatorship over him if he is not capable of acting in his own best interest. Feel free to contact me if interested in pursuing that.
