Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
I have recently discovered that a person I have a judgment against has self published three books through a company called "Xlibris". Is there a way to file a writ and claim his royalties?
Thank you!

Yes, you file for a writ of attachment and serve it on the company collecting the royalties.

If you have an enforceable judgment, and if you have or get a Writ of Execution, you can have the local Sheriff levy upon any assets you find, including royalty payment rights, by properly serving them with the Writ. It only works in the state where you have your judgment. To levy in any other state, you have to obtain a sister state judgment and Writ there.
