Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I recently was forced to ask my 19 year old son to move out of our house and live elsewhere due to various behaviors he refuses to correct. He is now staying with a friend. He is still insured on our auto policy but his car is registered in his name only. My question is, if he were to cause significant property damage or injury someone in an accident, could I still be held liable? Should I remove him from our auto insurance policy?

Mr. Nelson is correct as far as liability. I write to add that he probably no longer qualifies to be on your insurance. You should contact your insurance carrier and if they say he no longer qualifies, have him removed so that you don't have any issues clouding your coverage.
