getting settlement from lawyer

i wont a settlement on a discrimination suit a few months ago. the lawyer for some reason is not willing to gime any paperwork from lawsuit or the settlement for that matter. what can i do to obtain the paperwork and the settlement? please advise me. thnak you

The case file is yours, and you're entitled to it. If there was a written settlement agreement, the attorney should provide you with a copy of that which you signed. When you say you have not received the settlement, I take it that you received the money but not the agreement, itself. If you haven't received the money, please be more specific. Try to resolve the documents issue with the attorney. If you get nowhere, perhaps another lawyer can draft a letter on your behalf to obtain your file.

Contact the attorney�s office and ask for a copy of your file. If you are unsuccessful in getting a copy, contact another attorney and have the new attorney request a copy of your file.
