Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

possible slander

I just found out last year that pictures had been taken of me while I worked at a club in 1965. The films are being shown all over .When i saw them last February,so did over two hundred people. They were on a big screen. Is there anything I can do to stop them from being shown.

You will need to know who is controlling the film and whether you signed any kind of waiver and what state they were filmed in and exactly when so we know what law applied at the time. If you were an employee, the chances are not that good for you. But I can research this for you if you wish.

Probably not effectively. IF only one person had a copy, you could threaten or sue, based upon privacy and lack of consent/waiver issues, assuming you hadn't signed a model release at the time, or were under contract including image rights. More likely is that there are numerous copies all over the internet by now. If you're willing to spend a lot of time and money tracking down and seizing copies after you get a court order, we can talk.
