Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
Statute of limitation
What is the statute of limitation on being accused of child molestation. By the way I am not guilty of such a thing but I have a daughter that is very angry with me and has made the accusation she is claiming that I did this over 30 years ago.

Re: Statute of limitation
In an action for recovery of damages suffered as a result of childhood sexual abuse, the time for commencement of the action shall be within eight years of the date the plaintiff attains the age of majority or within three years of the date the plaintiff discovers or reasonably should have discovered that psychological injury or illness occurring after the age of majority was caused by the sexual abuse, whichever period expires later.
If she actually sues, hire counsel asap.
Re: Statute of limitation
I don't think your daughter is planning to sue you for sexual molestation as assumed by Mr. Nelson. I think your question concerns the statute of limitations for the district attorney to prosecute you in a criminal action. If I were you, I would repost this important question to the Criminal section.
Very truly yours,
