Translating Documents

I have a document that is in Spanish that was sent from another country to gives power to another person over the refinancing of a house. I need translation of the document into English. Can I do the translation myself or does it have to be done by a notary or someplace official?

The translation is probably not going to do you any good without an original notarized signature of the person on it. Check with the lender, since it is them you have to satisfy.

It depends on who you are showing the document to.

If this were court, there is a whole set of procedures for getting an out of the country declaration, and this would not be sufficient.

For a bank refinance, Mr. Nelson is correct, ask the bank what they will accept.
