Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I work for a company that was asking for donations for the wounded warriors/ folds of honor organization. If someone donated $10.00 they would recieve a value book for our company that has over $500.00 worth of savings. I recently found out that my boss backed out $4000.00 of the donation total and added it to our bottom line. Is this illegal? If so do you reccomed that i take action?

'You' don't get to take action, but you can report this to the Calif Attorney General or the local DA if they will accept your report.
