Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I need advice: My huabnd attended his interview at Ciudad Juarez for his petition on a visa of immigrant and he got was asked to wait 12 months until they process his visa. Now, he was not denied nor punished but my question is can we do something to spee up the process? His attorney presented his waiver but the US Consulate responded that it was not sufficient proof as why he is to come back. Help

There is nothing you can do to speed up the process. If you submitted the waiver application, form I-601, and it was not approved on a spot, and was sent for further processing, it can easilty take up to 18 months. Please keep in mind that not all waivers are approved within a few weeks in C. Juarez. Most of the applications take much longer.

If you mean that after 12 months, his Waiver application was denied. It can be eaither appealed or you can reapply again. In either case, you should consult a knowledgeable lawyer.
