Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
In a domestic filght do immigration also check for the visa or green card?
1 Answer from Attorneys
A person has to have a valid photo ID (e.g. a U.S. driver license or a valid foreign passport). Generally, during domestic flights, they do not check for a visa. However, it's possible to be referred for further inspection to the CBP at the airport if, for example, a person doesn't have valid and unexpired documents. If a person is out of status or illegally in the United States, they always take risk when travelling by air.
