From the moment you file the petition until the interview/approval, it usually takes from 7 to 12 months. It varies from country to country (different consulates may have different processing times), and also depends on which USCIS Service Center will process your Fiancee visa petition.

The process of obtaining the K-1 visa can take anywhere from 7-12 months. Note that the fiancee visa process is a three step process. The I-129F petition filed with USCIS currently takes about 5-6 months before it is approved. After it is approved, the paperwork then goes to NVC/local consultate for processing. Depending on the consulate, this step will add another 2-6 months to the timeline. After the visa interview at the consulate, the foreign national can enter the US as a K-1 visa holder. The couple must then marry withing 90 days of entry. After the marriage takes place, the couple must then file a third set of paperwork with the USCIS to adjust the foreign national's status from K-1 to conditional permanent resident.
