Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

i have a friend in twin towers jail los angeles and he had a court date jan 5 of 2010 he was dismiss but he still in jail the only thing i know is that he has a hold of immigration and also a wishold he is iligal in this country do you think he has a chance of get free in los angeles?

I am afraid that he will be deported (removed back to his home country) if he is illegal, has an immigration hold, and doesn't have any immigration relief available to him in Immigration Court.
